PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controller, which means Programmable Logic Controller. It is an electronic control system operated by digital operations. It is specially designed for applications in industrial environments and has extremely high anti-interference ability and reliability. It uses a type of programmable memory for its internal storage program, executes user-oriented instructions such as logical operation sequence control and timing counting, and controls various types of production operation processes through digital or analog input/output.
A salient feature of PLC is that there are many I/Os, which means that the PLC has strong adaptability. Even if the user changes the control flow chart due to factors such as product upgrades, he usually only needs to modify the control flow chart without modifying the PLC hardware. Wiring, so PLC has been greatly applied in the industrial control field.
From the composition structure form, PLC can be divided into two categories: one is an integrated integral PLC, which is characterized by the power supply, central processing unit, and I/O interface are all integrated in a housing. The other is a standard template type structured PLC. Its characteristic is that the power supply template, central processing unit template, I/O template, etc. are structurally independent of each other. According to specific application requirements, the appropriate template can be selected and installed in On a fixed rack or guide rail, a complete PLC application system is formed.
In the process of actual use of PLC in the industrial field, due to the harsh industrial field environment and heavy wiring workload, wiring errors are unavoidable, and the I/O ports with power limitations are often misconnected and short-circuited, causing the ports to be over-current and burned. Therefore, it is necessary to design over-current protection measures for each I/O port of the PLC, and place a self-recoverable fuse PPTC at each I/O port to avoid misconnection and short-circuit accidents. In this way, if the debugger accidentally short-circuits the I/O port, the self-recovery fuse PPTC will immediately start the protection, which limits the working current of the entire loop of the I/O port and protects the PLC main board. When the fault is eliminated, the self-recovery fuse PPTC will automatically recover to a low resistance state again soon, and the PLC can work normally again.
