Allen-Bradley 1756-EN2TR ControlLogix EtherNet/IP Interface Module

1756-EN2TR is an Ethernet/IP dual port interface communication module from Allen Bradley brand, which is part of the ControlLogix communication module series.

1、 Main functions and features
Communication ability:

Supports regular message passing, real-time I/O message passing, as well as information exchange for applications such as real-time control, time synchronization, and motion.

Allow simultaneous transmission of security and control data as well as diagnostic information, in compliance with CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) security standards.

Using advanced communication chips and physical media, with Ethernet/IP communication speeds ranging from 10-100 Mbps.

Interface and Connection:

Equipped with dual copper cable RJ45 interface, supporting unshielded Category 5 twisted pair cable connection.
Supports 256 Logix and 128 TCP/IP communication connections, and can be installed in any slot of the ControlLogix chassis.

Network support:

Specially designed for redundant Ethernet networks, supporting explicit protection mode, electronic keys, device level ring networks, and parallel redundant protocol networks.
The ControlNet and DeviceNet network protocols allow them to share a common application layer without the need for any scheduling or routing tables to store information.

Other features:
Supports up to 8 axes for integrated motion on Ethernet/IP networks.
The consumption current is 1A (at 1.5V DC), the maximum power consumption is 5.1W, and the heat dissipation is 17.4 BTU/hour.

3、 Usage and maintenance
Configuration and Settings:
before use, it is necessary to define network parameters such as IP address, subnet mask, gateway, etc.
Program and configure through Studio 5000 or other supported software.

Installation and wiring:
Install according to the installation guide provided by Allen Bradley, ensuring that the module is securely installed in the ControlLogix chassis.
Use unshielded Category 5 twisted pair cables for wiring, paying attention to following cable connection specifications and standards.

Fault diagnosis and maintenance:
The module is equipped with comprehensive detection and protection functions, which can monitor and diagnose the system status in real time.
When a malfunction occurs, software diagnostic tools can be used to troubleshoot and locate the problem
